re/connections

I connect people through participatory arts and media activities to encourage discussion and action around shifting societal status quos. My activities have engaged thousands of people from diverse communities across London and in the South West. Here are some examples of my work over the past 10 years.

Typically I prioritise enabling other artists and communities lacking agency, such as refugees, through mentoring and leading collaborative projects. Following a recent exhibition-based collaboration at Spike Island Arts, Place Portraits, and through devising and facilitating workshops with academics, I would like to receive some more support and mentoring to develop my practice.

I’m interested in the relationship between physical and virtual, for example using digital audio and video alongside plant structures.

Ideas I’m currently exploring through self-led research and small experiments include:

  • Relationships between physical/material, digital/virtual and live elements, climate impacts on nature & social systems, digital outputs and how to influence power.
  • Planted Sculptures- living works for exterior spaces
  • Rivers & how they connect communities, the impacts such as flood risk, pollution, transport and nature corridors.
